Is The Walking Dead preparing for a time jump before AMC's zombie series—at least this one—finally ends?

The last season of The Walking Dead, which follows Daryl Dixon and company, is broken into three parts rather than the customary two. Finally, the final third of the season begins with the episode "Lockdown."

The Walking Dead season 11's concluding episodes open with narration and classic scenes from earlier times, delaying the consequences from Connie's explosive newspaper piece on Sebastian Milton.

Judith Grimes, played by Cailey Fleming, is speaking over images of Rick, Shane, Merle, the Governor, and other characters.

Even while Rick's daughter doesn't sound substantially older than she is in The Walking Dead's present timeline, the nostalgic opening sequence's statement that "Others surrendered into the darkness" may be an indication that a time jump is about to occur.

It's been a while since then. The Walking Dead displays pictures of current baddies Leah, Sebastian Milton, and Lance Hornsby as she speaks.

When the youthful narrator is speaking from, Commonwealth conflict is a distant memory, as shown by the phrase "that was a long time ago" uttered over the villains who are currently on the loose.

Any hypothetical time jump in The Walking Dead season 11's new narrated opening sequence couldn't advance too far because Judith (now approximately 11 years old) still has a child's voice.

The core The Walking Dead TV series on AMC is ending, but the series' spinoffs starring Rick Grimes and Michonne, Maggie and Negan, and Daryl Dixon will keep the name alive.
