The plot of House of the Dragon will change next week, as the episode 6 trailer suggests a significant time jump to introduce new cast members and characters.

Based on the passage in George R.R. Martin's Fire & Blood book about the Targaryen fight of succession, the HBO series is a predecessor to Game of Thrones.

The first five episodes of Game of Thrones, which have received a lot of praise from fans, established the groundwork for the upcoming Targaryen family drama.

They star Rhys Ifans as Otto Hightower, Paddy Considine as King Viserys, Matt Smith as his brother Prince Daemon, Eve Best as Rhaenys Targaryen, and Steve Toussaint as Corlys Velaryon.

In episode 5, "We Light the Way," which aired on Sunday, Rhaenyra eventually consented to a marriage of convenience with her cousin Laenor Velaryon (Theo Nate).

Ser Criston Cole, the Kingsguard and lover of Rhaenyra, brutally murders Ser Joffrey Lonmouth (Solly McLeod) in front of everyone at the party out of shame and resentment.

Just seconds after the horrible event, Rhaenyra and Laenor are forced to renew their wedding vows.

The Game of Thrones YouTube account has received the HBO teaser for House of the Dragon episode 6, which confirms that the second half of the series will begin about 10 years later and feature a number of new cast members.

It's interesting to note how well Considine has shown time passing and how politics and family strife have aged Viserys.
