Madame Web Star Sydney Sweeney says she requested to keep her character close to the comics

Following a successful few years in Hollywood, particularly as Cassie Howard in Euphoria, Sydney Sweeney is now scheduled to make her MCU debut with Dakota Johnson in Madame Web.

 Additionally, the 26-year-old actress did not skimp on any detail in order to fully embody her role in the movie.

As she disclosed herself in the most recent teaser for the film, Sweeney drew inspiration from the comic books, the original source material, in an effort to be faithful to her character in the impending production.

In an Instagram collaboration with Sony Pictures, Sweeney shared a trailer of the film, in which the actress talks about pleading with the filmmakers to have her character fall from the roof in order to maintain the comic book's accuracy.

Prior to that, though, the actress who plays Julia Carpenter in the movie—better known as the second Spider-Woman—shares some of her experiences training for the role and ultimately bringing it to life on screen.

Sweeney disclosed that she pleaded with the creators to be allowed to hang upside down on the ceiling in order to preserve the character's realism.

Sydney Sweeney shared a teaser on February 1st, in which she can be seen wearing a Spider-Woman outfit and using a suspender to come down from the ceiling.

Sweeney reveals, “One of the comic drawings that I saw of Julia, she was always upside-down, be together, very ballet aerial moves. I begged and begged and begged to have my character drop from the ceiling because that's what Julia would have done.”

“I have a lot of photos of me just hanging upside down just waiting for action,” she adds.
