Variety reports that actor Oscar Isaac is willing to reprise his role as the brash freedom fighter Poe Dameron from the second trilogy in the Star Wars universe. Following several interviews in which the actor admitted feeling exhausted by the franchise, Isaac has had a change of heart.
Isaac was a key character in the Star Wars sequel trilogy that was set in the Galaxy after the fall of the Empire from 2015 to 2019.
While the sequel trilogy broke several records at the box office, both reviewers and fans had conflicting opinions of the films, which put a lot of pressure on the new ensemble.
Isaac decided to spend more in character studies after feeling too worn out by blockbuster Hollywood and the draining nature of high-budget productions.
That feeling has changed, as now Issac says: “I don’t know. I’m open to anything. You never know. I have no real feeling one way or another. I’m open to any good story. Time is the one thing that becomes challenging…as you get older and kids and all that. "
He continued saying: "Where do [movies] fit in? If there was a great story and a great director and [Lucasfilm president] Kathy [Kennedy] came to me and was like, ‘I have this great idea,’ then I’m so open to it.”
Not just Isaac, but several actors from the second trilogy have expressed interest in coming back. Adam Driver also said he would be open to returning as Kylo Ren if the appropriate directors were involved last year.
At the time, Driver told Unilad: “I don’t know. I’m open to anything. You never know. I have no real feeling one way or another. I’m open to any good story. Time is the one thing that becomes challenging…as you get older and kids and all that. ."
The next series to hit Disney+ is Andor, expected to debut three episodes on September 21.
