A prequel to Star Trek: The Original Series, the show will follow the crew of the USS Enterprise under Captain Christopher Pike.

The official trailer for CBS Studios' next Star Trek spin-off, Strange New Worlds, has been released by Paramount+. Strange New Worlds is set to premiere on Thursday, May 5.

Captain Pike, Spock, and Number One embark on a journey to chart the stars and push the boundaries of what is known in the Star Trek: Strange New Worlds trailer, which you can watch below.

The film proceeds to illustrate the various worlds they'll visit and the new life they'll find there.

On Thursday, May 5, the new series will launch exclusively on Paramount+ in the United States, Latin America, Australia, and the Nordics.

The Discovery crew needs a time crystal in order to save all sentient life in the galaxy. 

But in order to claim said crystal, Pike must face a terrifying vision of his own future. 

In it, he is horribly disfigured by radiation and forced to spend the rest of his life in unspeakable agony.
