Sharon Stone claims she was ‘laughed out of the studio’ when she first proposed a Barbie movie in '90s

The Barbie who was never able to be is Sharon Stone. The Academy Award-nominated actor recently disclosed that in the early 2000s, she made an unsuccessful presentation for a Barbie film.

She also gave the new Barbie team her congratulations for winning the current award season and making $1 billion at the box office.

Actor America Ferrera, who portrayed Barbie, gave her motivational acceptance speech from the Critics Choice Awards on Tuesday.

Sharon took to the comment section and wrote, “I was laughed out if the studio when I came with the Barbie idea in the 90s with the support of the head of Barbie. How far we’ve come thank you ladies for your courage and endurance.”

Sony Pictures was working on another Barbie film, which was titled Sharon.

Due to creative disagreements, Amy Schumer decided not to play the Mattel doll when she was first being considered.

The identical role was subsequently given to Anne Hathaway, although the film never gained much traction.

At the recent Golden Globes, Barbie took home the first-ever Cinematic Box Office Achievement trophy.
