Ryan Gosling's portrayal of Ken in Margot Robbie's "Barbie" is synthetic and amazing, but there's something about the appearance that has the Internet divided.

For the look, Gosling has platinum blond hair and tanned complexion, and he looks sufficiently plastic in denims that show off his washboard abs.

His own name is emblazoned on his underpants, and he has a sneer on his face.

Barbie is directed by Greta Gerwig, and based on her previous work, fans are anticipating a new kind of Barbie film.

Issa Rae, Will Ferrell, Hari Nef, Ncuti Gatwa, and Simu Liu are among the cast members.

While many people were blown away by Gosling's performance as Ken, others were sceptical. "Ryan, honey, I can't keep defending you longer, I'm sorry," one reader said on Rotten Tomatoes' Facebook post featuring Ken.

Another commented, "That's not Ken, that's a Level 10 Chad." Brad Mondo, a hairstylist and Youtuber, was a popular pick among many who Gosling's Ken resembled.

"I'm legit frightened out by this appearance haha," one reader said, "so I'll certainly check out the movie in hopes it has a narrative twist and ends up being a horror movie."
