For FX Productions, Sterlin Harjo and Taika Waititi developed the Native American teen comedy-drama television series Reservation Dogs.

It is a noteworthy first because it has an almost fully Indigenous North American cast and production staff, as well as writers and directors who are all Indigenous.

. The entire series was filmed in Oklahoma for the first time, as well. On August 9, 2021, the series had its Hulu debut under the FX on Hulu label.

There isn’t much of a wait since the second season is set to debut in the beginning of August, per the teaser trailer release.

However, it also means we have plenty of time to watch the first season again before starting the second, which is scheduled to begin on Hulu on August 3.

The second season of the show will feature the return of Devery Jacobs, D’Pharaoh Woon-A-Tai, Paulina Alexis, and Lane Factor.

The show borrows its title and several plot details from Quentin Tarantino’s Reservoir Dogs

The young criminal gangs reassemble in the second season after breaking up, with Elora (Jacobs) and Jackie (Elva Guerra), the gang’s sworn nemesis, having left for California.

On August 3, the first two episodes of Reservation Dogs’ new season will debut exclusively on Hulu.

The show is also one of seven that the Television Academy will celebrate in 2022 as part of its 15th Television Academy Honors.
