'Orphan Black: Echoes' Will Finally Air This Summer

The spinoff series Orphan Black: Echoes is set to premiere later this year, despite the fact that it was unable to get picked up by AMC or BBC America in time for the original series' tenth anniversary.

Similar to the last video, the latest teaser features Krysten Ritter recuperating from an operation as a part of an enigmatic new science experiment.

Disoriented and seeing double, she is forced to work out her true identity with a group of women who find themselves in similar situations and whose lives start to converge. Furthermore, the updated video has a confirmed June 23 premiere date on AMC, AMC+, and BBC America.

Orphan Black: Echoes, which was first announced in 2022, was supposed to release in the United States in March 2023. However, due to delays, Australian viewers were the only ones who were able to watch Lucy's (Ritter) narrative develop on Stan.

The ten-episode series takes place in 2052, a far later time period in which cloning technology has advanced to terrifying new heights. It is situated in the same universe as the original Orphan Black.

At the heart of these technological breakthroughs is Lucy, who wakes up having no idea who she is or what happened to her until she is shown her clone. As she and her fellow subjects work to understand their reality, mystery and intrigue grow, revealing "a wrenching story of love and betrayal" along the way.

Following in the footsteps of Tatiana Maslany, who elevated Orphan Black with a breakthrough performance as Sarah Manning and her various clones, Ritter has a lot of shoes to fill with the spinoff series.

Original series creator John Fawcett says Orphan Black: Echoes is taking a different turn from its predecessor, but the Jessica Jones star will still have plenty of opportunities to shine.
