According to reports, Kenneth Petty, the husband of Nicki Minaj, was given a three-year probationary term and a year of house arrest for failing to register as a sex offender in Los Angeles.

He was found guilty of trying to rape a 16-year-old girl in 1994, and as a result, he was forced by law to register as a sex offender in New York before starting his relationship with Minaj.

Despite the fact that Petty failed to follow suit and left the state in October 2019 after marrying Minaj.

In November 2019, Beverly Hills police pulled over Kenneth and realised he was a registered sex offender in New York but had not registered in California. Kenneth was then jailed for the same offence.

Petty was then released on a USD 20,000 bond, and charged for failing to register as a sex offender.

She wrote, "He was 15, she was 16 … in a relationship. But go awf, [sic] internet, y’all can’t run my life. y’all can’t even run y’all own life"

The rapper also took to Instagram to share two rare photos of Kenneth and the pair’s son, who is only know publicly as ‘Papa Bear.’
