South Korean content, such as films, web series, and music, is gaining popularity around the world.
Several South Korean series have made their way to streaming platforms throughout the world in the last year, and audiences have been impressed.
Squid Game, a Netflix web series, smashed multiple streaming records and became one of the OTT giant’s most-watched shows.
The secret is that Netflix’s smash show La Casa De Papel (Money Heist) has received a chilly Korean favour.
The first peek video is now available. In addition, the K-drama reimagining “Money Heist: Korea – Joint Economic Area Part 1” will air on June 24.
The plot twist is that Korea is on the cusp of unification, and there is a Joint Security Area – positioned where today’s North and South Korea are separated – that houses a mint that becomes the focal point of the action.
The trailer also features fan-favorite characters – Professor, played by Yoo Ji-tae, Tokyo, played by Jung Jong-seo, and Berlin, played by Park Hae-soo of “Squid Game”.
