In addition to Chris Evans, another regular Russo collaborator, Ryan Gosling, Bridgerton breakthrough star Regé-Jean Page, and Ana De Armas in her second major action role

The film's high-octane, international action and star-studded ensemble added up to a hefty price tag.

The movie will be written by Deadpool screenwriters Paul Wernick and Rhett Reese, who have previously worked with Netflix on 6 Underground and Spiderhead.

What characters or aspects from The Gray Man will make an appearance in the upcoming movie has not yet been disclosed by Netflix.

There is a sizable cast of characters in the movie that are deserving of their own spinoff or prequel, including de Armas' agent Dani Miranda, Jessica Henwick's agent Suzanne Brewer, and the past chiefs of the Sierra programme played by Billy Bob Thornton and Alfre Woodard.

The movie also included a heroic mercenary, portrayed by Dhanush, a legend of Tamil cinema, who may provide them the chance to make a more Bollywood-influenced spinoff.
