D23 Expo 2018 is currently underway, and Disney and its affiliated businesses have already revealed a tonne of information, including first glimpses, trailers, fresh announcements, and more.
Disney+ announced today the premiere date for the eagerly awaited series National Treasure: Edge of History.
The first two episodes of the show will air on December 14 when it debuts, with the remaining episodes airing weekly after.
National Treasure and National Treasure: Book of Secrets are continued in the new series.
The main character is Jess Morales (Lisette Olivera), a DREAMer who is characterised as "intelligent and resourceful" and who is in her 20s.
She will look for information about her family's past during the first season.
In total, the 2004 and 2007 originals of National Treasure and its follow-up Book of Secrets made close to $800 million.
They have established themselves as a well-known duo, with the first one coming up with the catchphrase "I'm going to steal the Declaration of Independence."
They concentrated on Ben Gates (Nicolas Cage), a specialist in American history who teams up with Riley Poole (Justin Bartha), a tech whiz, and archivist Abigail Chase (Diane Kruger) to find lost and priceless artefacts.
Edge of History seeks to recreate that similar adventure while broadening its target market.
