AMC Networks announced that they were renewing Moonhaven for a second season.

The first season of Moonhaven, which was produced by Peter Ocko (Lodge 49, Black Sails, Elementary, Pushing Daisies), will contain six episodes, with the season finale airing on August 4 on AMC+.

Six episodes will make up the second season, which will air on AMC+ at some point in 2023.

Moonhaven has surpassed Dark Winds to become the second most watched new series and the most watched exclusive series in the history of the streaming service since its release earlier this month.

The second season will once again contain six episodes and will be makings it's way to AMC+ sometime in 2023.

The events of Moonhaven take place on the titular Moonhaven, a utopian Moon colony, 100 years in the future.

 The show centres on Bella Sway, a lunar cargo pilot and smuggler who becomes stuck on the station and is charged with a crime she didn't commit.

A base called The Moonhaven is dedicated to finding a solution to a calamity that would soon destroy civilisation on Earth.

Along with being its creator, Ocko also serves as the series showrunner on the series as well as an executive producer alongside Deb Spera Moonhaven is an AMC Studios production and an AMC+ original.

The season 1 finale of Moonhaven will premiere next week on August 4 after tonight's penultimate episode of the show airs on AMC+. The utopian drama series' second season will debut in 2023.
