Meghan Markle won't be returning for the reboot of Suits

The official relaunch will not include the former paralegal who is now the Duchess.

In an interview with the Mirror, a close friend of the show's creator said that Rachel Zane, who was portrayed by Markle for seven seasons, will not be returning, thereby putting an end to rumors that she might have been involved.

Suits: L.A., a spin-off of Suits, is in production and will introduce drama and fresh faces to the West Coast.

Meghan Markle, the Duchess of Sussex, is not expected to be engaged in the pilot or series outline being created by show creator Aaron Korsh.

Not only is she not included, but the showrunner apparently wants the reboot to succeed on its own without depending on the former cast members of the original series.

Given the enormous popularity of the program, this choice might come as a surprise, but former Suits star Rachael Harris, a close friend of Korsh's, confirmed it when she recently attended the MUAHS Awards in Beverly Hills.

Numerous Hollywood actresses could be considered for that position. Still, Yanofsky said, "casting Meghan would guarantee headlines around the globe." But given her previous experience with podcasting, it begs the issue of whether the Duchess is prepared for the rigors of a regular filming schedule.

"Well, this is the thing -the only thing I know the truth is that Aaron Korsh who created the original Suits I know personally: and of course when I got wind that they were doing a Suits LA I was like, okay, so when am I working?," said Rachael Harris, who starred in Suits as Sheila Sazs.
