Kung Fu Panda 4 is in development, and a release date has been set.

One of the most well-known DreamWorks animated series is Kung Fu Panda, which centres on Po (Jack Black), a common panda who transforms into the legendary Dragon Warrior with the aid of his teacher Shifu and the other kung fu masters.

With their support, The Furious Five protect their homeland. The movie series has so far brought in $1.8 billion at the global box office.

With a holiday special and three separate television shows, the franchise has continued.

The first, Kung Fu Panda: Legends of Awesomeness, aired on Nickelodeon from 2011 to 2014 before switching to Nicktoons in 2016. It was set in between the first and second movies.

Kung Fu Panda will return to theatres after a sabbatical, according to a report in Deadline that Kung Fu Panda 4 is in the works at DreamWorks Animation.

The movie is scheduled to premiere on March 8, 2024.

The movie's plot hasn't been revealed, and there aren't any filmmakers connected just yet, but it will be the first Kung Fu Panda movie that Universal Pictures has distributed since they acquired DreamWorks in 2016.

It will have been eight years since the release of Kung Fu Panda 3 if Kung Fu Panda 4 manages to meet its release date.

DreamWorks Animation and Universal Pictures are likely hoping for generational nostalgia for the original films to help make the film a box office sensation, similar to how Minions: The Rise of Gru performed over the summer.
