While Britney Spears was under the conservatorship for 13 years, Kevin Federline claims he felt awful for her.

However, he also claims that it hindered his role as the father of their two sons.

In an interview with 60 Minutes Australia, Britney's ex-husband discusses his experiences raising their boys, Jayden James, 15, and Sean Preston, 16, while their mother was going through difficult times.

In the interview, which was just recorded, Kevin claims "I felt terrible for her.

I was, in fact. I still feel horrible."

Only a few brief excerpts from 60 Minutes Australia have been released thus far.

But it's obvious that K-Fed is researching a topic that has gained attention recently: Jayden and Sean's connection with Britney.

It's unclear from the brief tape exactly what Kevin is referring to when he says, "The boys, the boys, the boys, I had to worry about them.

I couldn't get involved." He could be referring to the conservatorship itself, Britney's conflicts with her family, or her visits with their sons.

It has, however, "been a few months since they've seen her," he does remark.
