As she spoke on a podcast, the star remembered how the media was obsessed with her weight.
Winslet who has earned an Academy Award nomination for playing Rose in Titanic, has been vocal about the cruel treatment from the media .
Prior to the 25th anniversary of the movie, Kate stated on the Happy Sad Confused podcast., “Apparently, I was too fat… Isn’t it awful? Why were they so mean to me?
They were so mean. I wasn’t even f**ing fat… If I could turn back the clock, I would have used my voice in a completely different way… I would have said to journalists I would have responded, I would have said, ‘Don’t you dare treat me like this.
I’m a young woman, my body is changing, I’m figuring it out, I’m deeply insecure, I’m terrified, don’t make this any harder than it already is.’
She last appeared in James Cameron’s Avatar: The Way of Water, the follow-up to Titanic, where she broke Tom Cruise’s previous record by holding her breath underwater for seven minutes and fifteen seconds.
