An update has been offered for the eagerly awaited spinoff series The Continental, which will now be moving to a new platform, while fans of the action genre breathlessly await the return of Keanu Weaves as the title character with the release of John Wick: Chapter 4 next year.

The Continental, a precursor to the popular franchise, will go from Starz to Peacock, where viewers can watch the show's episodes on the streaming platform.

he series will focus on The Continental hotel, which was seen in the films as a neutral hangout area for members of the criminal underworld, and is operated by Winston Scott (Ian McShane).

The story will centre on a young Winston, played by Colin Woodell (The Flight Attendant), who strives to take over the hotel while navigating the criminal underground in 1970s New York.

"We understand the value of a global franchise and Val Boreland and team knew that by bringing this special event series to Peacock and putting the full power of NBCUniversal behind it, the premiere of The Continental will be the streaming event of the year.”  he added.

Ayomide Adegun (The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes), who will portray a young Charon, the hotel concierge, will also appear in the series with Woodell.

Lance Reddick previously portrayed Charon in the movie series. Peter Greene from The Mask, Mel Gibson from Braveheart, and Ben Robson from Vikings all join the cast as Uncle Charlie, Cormac, and Frankie, respectively.

The series will also feature appearances by Hubert Point-Du Jour (Dr. Death) as Miles, Jessica Allain (The Laundromat) as Lou, Mishel Prada (Vida) as KD, and Nhung Kate (The Housemaid) as Yen.

The Continental is anticipated to premiere on Peacock some time in 2023, however no exact date has been specified yet.
