Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck surprised their fans when they married on July 17.
The couple who renewed their passion last year realised a desire they had 20 years ago when they were together: they married.
The singer announced her marriage in her newsletter and in an Instagram post.
JLo captioned her first Instagram post after marrying Ben Affleck, "Sadie," referring to the lines "Sadie, Sadie, wedded woman," as performed by Fanny Brice in the play.
Along with it, Lopez tweeted a photo of herself in bed sans make-up, wearing her wedding ring.
Lopez writes in her email about the wedding bands, "We read our own vows in the little chapel and gave one another the rings we'll wear for the rest of our lives."
Lopez's tweet drew several congratulations from her followers and friends.
Hoda Kotb also congratulated the happy couple, stating, "Love is patient and punctual. Congratulations, my beloved."
In the email, the singer also revealed her new name, referring to herself as "Mrs Jennifer Lynn Affleck."
According to marriage records acquired by TMZ, Lopez has legally adopted Ben's surname.
