Indian-origin woman, 15-year-old daughter killed in floods amid Hurricane Ida in US

At least three Indian-origin persons have reportedly been killed in New Jersey in the US after they were swept away by flash floods caused by Hurricane Ida.

Software designer Malathi Kanche (46) was driving home with her 15-year-old daughter when her vehicle halted in waist-deep floodwater.

The two held onto a tree but it fell, pulling them in the torrent.
