In a future Game of Thrones spinoff series, actor Kit Harington discussed how his character Jon Snow may start out his arc.

Harington, according to EW, described how Jon may consider his history while he passed the days in exile north of the Wall.

The actor made a point of mentioning how Jon might continue to be haunted by the events of the last season of Game of Thrones. He claimed that if you had asked him, "I think he would've felt he got off lightly."

"He is getting ready to be beheaded and wants to be when we discover him in that cell at the end of the show. He is done. The greatest blessing and the greatest curse are embodied in the fact that he visits the Wall."

Furthermore, Harington conjectured that Daenerys Targaryen's passing was not the only ghost from Jon's past, pointing out that the former Lord Commander of the Night's Watch had seen a number of his closest allies pass away over the course of Game of Thrones' eight seasons.

"He's gotta go back up to the place with all this history and live out his life thinking about how he killed Dany, and live out his life think about Ygritte dying in his arms, and live out his life thinking about how he hung Olly " the actor said

In June 2022, HBO said that a spinoff centred on Jon Snow was in the works, with Kit Harington set to reprise his role as the beloved White Wolf.

If additional Game of Thrones actors will appear in the spinoff, HBO has not said. Later reports reportedly stated that the programme was still in the planning stages, which led many viewers to wonder when production will start in earnest.

The originator of the A Song of Ice and Fire book series, on which Game of Thrones was based, author George R.R. Martin, provided additional information regarding the production of the spinoff, including the future show's working title, Snow.
