We are convinced that there will be war in the Seven Kingdoms of Westeros, and every episode of House of the Dragon since its debut has been preparing us for it.

The series' fourth episode appears to have been the quiet before the storm. Episode 4, King of the Narrow Sea, featured Daemon Targaryen (Matt Smith) returning to King's Landing and declaring his allegiance to his king and brother Viserys Targaryen (Paddy Considine).

In King's Landing, the delicate balance of perception has been slightly disrupted by Daemon's return. The heir's purity has been questioned as a result of his late-night escapade with his niece, Princess Rhaenyra (Milly Alcock), and she now needs to get married.

A royal wedding is nothing new for Game of Thrones fans who have watched the first season. The historic Red Wedding is a memory we all have.

The union of Rhaenyra and Ser Laenor Velaryon (John Macmillan) is seen in this new promo for the prequel's upcoming episode, however the festivities do appear to have been marred by a severe argument in classic Westerosi fashion.

We are convinced that there will be war in the Seven Kingdoms of Westeros, and every episode of House of the Dragon since its debut has been preparing us for it.

The fifth episode, titled We Light the Way, features the king's health deteriorating to the point where his former Hand, Lord Otto Hightower (Rhys Ifans), instructs his queen and daughter, Alicent (Emily Carey), to "Prepare Aegon to govern" after the king passes away.

The portrayal of Rhaenyra and Alicent by Alcock and Carey in Episode 5 might be their final appearance.
