Heartstopper's Joe Locke and Kit Connor recreated one of the show's cutest moments on social media.

Alice Oseman's British LGBTQ+ teen romance series, based on her graphic novel of the same name, premiered on Netflix on April 22, 2022.

The plot revolves around the budding romance between Charlie Spring (Locke), a bullied gay teen, and his rugby lad classmate Nick Nelson (Connor).

Charlie initially believes Nick is straight, but he soon discovers that things are not so simple.

The show became an overnight success, so much so that Netflix decided to renew Heartstopper for seasons 2 and 3 at the same time, an extremely rare move for the streaming platform.

One of the most memorable scenes in Heartstopper is Nick arriving at Charlie's doorstep, drenched in rain, to apologise for how he treated Charlie after their first kiss.

Charlie lovingly refers to him as an idiot, and the roles are reversed when Charlie runs out into the rain to give Nick an umbrella, which they use to have their second kiss under.

That classic Nick and Charlie Heartstopper moment has just played out in real life via social media, which is hilarious. When a fan tagged Kit Connor and asked why his photos from a recent trip to Los Angeles showed his arms covered in Band-Aids, Connor quote tweeted back, "there was a swan..."
