The popular video game Halo television series adaptation’s second season has already started filming in Iceland, according to a statement from Paramount+.
Budapest will serve as the location for additional shoots later this year.
The start of the sophomore season’s filming coincided with the announcement of Joseph Morganand Cristina Rodlo joining the cast as new series regulars.
The character James Ackerson, who is well-known to followers of the Halo universe, makes Morgan’s debut in the series.
He is described as a “formidable intelligence agent who has spent his career rising the ranks of the UNSC’s secretive Office of Naval Intelligence,” according to the official press release.
She is a communications unit member with a linguistics focus who is still a very fresh recruit and hasn’t experienced any actual fighting.
The Halo series at Paramount+ is based on the identical video game franchise, which made its debut back in 2001.
It is set in the 26th century and centres on humanity’s conflict with The Covenant, an alien force.
The TV series adaptation is directed by showrunner David Wiener, who also serves as executive producer on the show.
It is produced by Showtime in collaboration with current Halo developers 343 Industries and Amblin Television.
