Dr. Meredith Grey played by Ellen Pompeo will only appear in eight episodes of Grey’s Anatomy’s forthcoming 19th season. As an executive producer, the actress will keep running the show.

Since the start of the medical drama in 2005, Pompeo has become a mainstay.

She has been the focus of the eighteen seasons so far, with the show following her career as it developed from intern to chief of general surgery.

The new season, which will premiere on ABC on October 6, is preparing to start production.

Pompeo has accepted a new television acting position; this will be her first significant role since serving as the show’s executive producer.

In the upcoming season of Grey’s Anatomy, Harry Shum Jr., Alexis Floyd, Niko Terho, Midori Francis, and Adelaide Kane will portray a bunch of interns.

Since the Hospital lost its training program at the end of the previous season, viewers are wondering how this plotline will develop in the upcoming season.

The new season will also feature Chandra Wilson and James Pickens Jr. in their respective roles as Drs. Richard Webber and Miranda Bailey.

In 2023, Pompeo will also be honoured with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, a well-earned honour for the performer.

Ironically, the actress has never received a nomination for a Primetime Emmy for her performance.
