The CIA limited series starring Noah Centineo, now titled The Recruit, will make its Netflix premiere in December 2022.  

In April 2021, Netflix won a competitive bidding war to purchase the series.  

Alexi Hawley, known for developing such shows as the police drama The Rookie and State of Affairs and having worked on Castle and The Following, is the creator of the new series. 

Doug Liman will be the director, while Hawley will write and oversee the show.  

Along with Doug Liman, Gene Klein, and David Bartis, Centineo and Hawley are executive producers of Hypnotic.  

Graymail, which refers to the threat of revealing state secrets in order to influence court processes, served as the project’s working name. 

With a former asset threatening to reveal the nature of her close relationship with the CIA unless they clear her of a serious crime 

Noah Centineo will play the primary role of a young lawyer who becomes involved in a risky CIA case.  

According to Production Weekly, the next limited series is in active development at Netflix as of July 2021, with a production start date of October 2021 in Montreal, Canada.

Netflix stated at Netflix Tudum 2022 that the series will release globally on December 16th, 2022, accompanied with a first-look image.
