Dua Lipa calls for an end to hostilities between Israel and Gaza

Entertainer Dua Lipa has expressed her viewpoint on the Israel-Hamas conflict and is a staunch supporter of a "humanitarian cease-fire."

The musician discussed the ongoing violence and the necessity for deeper discussions about war in an interview with Rolling Stone.

She was quoted as saying, “I think there’s no kind of deep discussion about war and oppression. It just is something that we’ve seen happen time and time again.”

“I feel like just being a musician and posting about something doesn’t make enough of a difference, but hopefully, just showing solidarity, which is sometimes all you feel like you can do, is important,” the singer further told the magazine.

Speaking about the October 7 Hamas attacks that resulted in the deaths of over 1,200 Israelis, Lipa remarked, "I feel so bad for every Israeli life lost."

She also signed an open letter pleading with President Biden to press for a cease-fire and de-escalation among other well-known people including Joaquin Phoenix and Cate Blanchett.
