Dora trailer offers a first look at the iconic Nickelodeon show's CG reboot

A trailer for the upcoming streaming series featuring the beloved character Dora the Explorer features a computer-animated facelift.

The animated series of the same name served as the inspiration for the franchise.

It ran on Nickelodeon from 2000 to 2014 and featured a young Latina girl on adventures where she spoke directly to the camera, taught the audience Spanish, and saved them avert imminent death.

Since then, the brand has grown to include a live-action adventure comedy film Dora and the Lost City of Gold, which stars Isabela Moner as a teenage Dora, as well as an animated spinoff and sequel.

Along with CG upgrades of other popular characters like her monkey buddy Boots, the cunning fox Swiper, and Map, the trailer reintroduces Dora to a new generation.

Throughout the brief, minute-long trailer, Dora embarks on a number of adventurous adventures with her family, several animal pals, and most importantly, the audience.

The target demographic for Dora is preschoolers, same like in the original series. The 26 eleven-minute episodes that make up the season will debut onParamount+ on April 12.

In the new production, along with Diana Zermeño as Dora, Asher Colton Spence as Boots, Anairis Quiñones as Map, Mike Smith Rivera as Papi, and Katarina Sky as Backpack, Kathleen Herles, the original star of Dora the Explorer, will play Mami.

This new version of the franchise is apparently intended to be a companion piece to a planned live-action show that will target a somewhat older audience and be influenced by the Dora the Explorer film.
