Christina Hendricks has joined the cast of AppleTV+'s adaptation of Pulitzer Prize winner Edith Wharton's unfinished last novel The Buccaneers.

The untitled forthcoming drama series is inspired on the aforementioned novel set in the Gilded Age.

Hendrick's character will utilise her experiences to guide her two children through the London season as they seek happiness in the form of partners.

Mrs. St George and her daughters, however, would soon discover that "marriage might not be the path to that happiness... for any of them," according to AppleTV+'s description of the character.

Christina Hendricks, no stranger to British television, will use her wealth of stage and screen expertise to play a Gilded Age figure.

She was most recently seen as Elizabeth Bradshaw in the first and second seasons of Sky Atlantic's crime thriller Tin Star.

In addition to her part in AMC's Mad Men, for which she received six Emmy nods, Hendricks is also known for her appearance in the NBC comedy series Good Girls, which ended after four seasons in 2021.
