Filming on George Miller’sMad Max prequel picture, Furiosa has begun, according to Chris Hemsworth.
George Miller created a tremendous blockbuster with Mad Max: Fury Road in 2015, some years after completing a trilogy of films with Mel Gibson as Max.
The picture stars Tom Hardy as Max and introduced audiences to Charlize Theron’s Furiosa, with the two sharing the screen for most of the action-packed adventure.
Hemsworth has revealed that Furiosa is currently in production. As filming in Australia gets underway, he released a photo of the movie’s clapper on social media.
So yet, only Hemsworth and Warner Bros. have acknowledged the start of filming
This announcement comes nearly two years to the day before Furiosa is set to hit theatres on May 24, 2024.
The popularity of Mad Max: Fury Road allowed George Miller to continue the franchise and explore plans for a prequel centered on Furiosa, who had become a standout character.
When it was reported that Anya Taylor-Joy would play the younger Imperator Furiosa and bring Charlize Theron’s character back to life, production on Furiosa truly picked up in 2020.
Later, it was confirmed that Chris Hemsworth would also be appearing in the Mad Max prequel film.
So far, nothing is known about Furiosa’s plot except that it takes place before the events of Mad Max: Fury Road.
