BTS selected as World EXPO 2030 Busan's Honorary Ambassadors

The deputy economic mayor of Busan, Lee Sung Kwon, the CEO of HYBE, Park Ji Won, and the secretary general of the 2030 Busan World Expo bidding committee, Park Jung Wook, met on July 7 to discuss future plans featuring BTS as the ambassadors for the 2030 Busan World Expo.

The appointment ceremony to name BTS as the honorary ambassadors for Busan's campaign to host the 2030 World Expo was disclosed during the meeting.

The event will take place on July 19 from 1 pm IST to 1:30 pm IST and will be live-streamed via the World Expo 2030, Busan, official YouTube channel, according to an update provided yesterday, July 18.

He also instructed them to take part in a variety of events in support of Busan's World Expo bid. One of the speakers during the welcome address was Park Ji Won, CEO of HYBE.

The members of BTS were then presented with appointment plaques and badges, starting with RM and continuing with Jin, SUGA, J-Hope, Jimin, V, and Jungkook to formally designate them as Honorary Ambassadors.

He went on to explain that it was an honour to be selected as the ambassadors and that BTS would try their hardest by using a variety of initiatives, beginning with the Global Busan Concert in October.
