Many congratulations are in order! BTS' music video for "Dynamite" reached a new milestone on YouTube on June 17 at roughly 1:10 a.m. KST (9:40 p.m. IST)
The video surpassed 1.5 billion views, becoming their second music video to do so after 'Boy With Luv (feat. Halsey),' which did so earlier this year in April.
Furthermore, because the music video for 'Dynamite' was launched on August 21, 2020, at 1 p.m. KST (9:30 a.m. IST), it took the music video nearly a year, 9 months, 26 days, and 12 hours to attain this milestone.
With this, 'Dynamite' has officially become BTS' fastest music video to reach 1.5 billion YouTube views!
On April 12, 2021, the music video has already surpassed 1 billion views.
'Dynamite,' BTS' debut totally English song, is still incredibly special for a variety of reasons.
'Dynamite' not only became BTS' first number one single on the Billboard Hot 100, but it also made the septet the first all-South Korean outfit to do so.
'Dynamite' remained at the top of the charts for three weeks. In addition, 'Dynamite' topped the Billboard Global 200 and Billboard Global Excl. US charts, the latter of which it dominated for three weeks in a row.
With their performance of 'Dynamite' at the 63rd Grammy Awards in March 2021, BTS became the first Korean pop act to sing their own song at the award show.
The bouncy disco-pop song has elements of funk and soul (which are also mentioned in the lyrics!). This song was described by the group as a positive track with a message of hope and happiness.
