Lalisa Manoban, popularly known as Lisa of BLACKPINK, finally received official confirmation from Guinness World Records that she broke three world records in 2022.
The first K-pop artist to win an individual award was Lisa in 2022 at the MTV Video Music Awards
She was also the first K-pop artist to win a solo award at the MTV Europe Music Awards. Lisa has been recognised by the organisation as the K-Pop star with the most Instagram followers.
"Lisa has also been granted the title of most followers on Instagram for a K-pop singer with 86.3 million followers as of 19 January 2023," they said, "in addition to dominating the MTV Awards."
Lisa from BLACKPINK is one of the international faces of K-Pop. BLACKPINK, a Thai rapper, singer, and dancer, has gained popularity since making her K-Pop debut in 2016. The 25-year-old K-Pop sensation debuted on her own in September 2021.
With her debut solo album LALISA, which only had two tracks and sold more than 736,000 copies in South Korea during its first week of sales, she became the first female artist to accomplish this accomplishment.
The main single from the album, "Same Name," had the biggest music video launch by a solo artist with 73.6 million views on YouTube in the first day of release.
The song gave Lisa the first MTV Video Music Award ever won by a K-pop singer in addition to two Guinness World Records.
"Lalisa" (the album) and "MONEY" are the two K-Pop soloist albums and songs that are currently being streamed the most on Spotify.
