Bad Bunny visits FIU to attend a hospitality seminar with David Grutman

Following Bad Bunny's invitation to participate in a hospitality seminar by businessman David Grutman, the Puerto Rican pop sensation made his way to Florida International University.

When Bad Bunny arrived in the FIU classroom on Thursday, students enthusiastically applauded the Grammy Award-winning musician.

Bad Bunny had a message for the next generation of hospitality professionals when he took the stage.

“Everything I do, and I’ve said this many times, I do it with my heart,” he said in Spanish. “This is how I make my music and that has led me to create other types of income and create a business. I can’t work on something if I don’t feel passionate about it.”

In August 2022, Bad Bunny and Grutman collaborated to open Gekkō, a Miami restaurant with a Japanese flair.

A professor at the FIU Chaplin School of Hospitality & Tourism Management, Grutman created The David Grutman Experience: The Class to give students guidance and motivation from well-known celebrities to launch their own hospitality website.

Stars like Rick Ross, Jason Mamoa, and Drake have visited Grutman's class to provide motivational speeches to FIU students ever since his first one opened for registration.
