Apple Original Films has acquired the rights to Causeway, a brand-new movie starring and produced by Academy Award winner Jennifer Lawrence and directed by Lila Neugebauer
Later this year, the military drama, which was made in collaboration with A24, will debut in theatres and on Apple TV+. There is no firm date for release.
The movie’s finer points are still being kept a secret. What is known is that Brian Tyree Henry, an Emmy Award nominee, will co-star with Lawrence.
According to the basic plot summary, the movie is a “intimate depiction” of a soldier who is having to adjust to her daily life after returning to her home in New Orleans.
Principal photography on the movie, which was first announced in April 2019, began on June 17 in New Orleans, Louisiana.
The A24 movie was filmed in New Orleans, and Ottessa Moshfegh, Luke Goebel, and Elizabeth Sanders wrote the script.
For Excellent Cadaver, Lawrence collaborates with Justine Ciarrocchi on production.
Neugebauer not only directs but also serves as executive producer. IAC Films, IPR.VC, Excellent Cadaver, and A24 are the producers of “Causeway.”
