Andor to become first Disney+ star wars show to stream on TV and Hulu.
With the 2019 release of The Mandalorian, Disney started creating separate streaming shows set in the Star Wars universe.
According to critics, Diego Luna’s Andor, a prequel to Rogue One, has been the most popular Star Wars Disney+ series so far.
Disney has announced a significant Andor event on other platforms, including traditional free TV.
Because Andor has been such a critical success that it is now giving the show a showcase outside of the boundaries of its paid streaming service.
Over the Thanksgiving holiday, four different Disney-owned platforms will make the first two Andor episodes, “Kassa” and “That Would Be Me,” available to viewers who don’t have Disney+.
Due to the initial foray’s enormous popularity, Disney+ quickly became overrun with Star Wars episodes.
Of course, it remains to be seen whether airing Andor on ABC during the holidays would persuade any older Star Wars-interested viewers to subscribe to Disney+.
There’s no drawback to that; at the very least, the wider release provides more people the opportunity to watch a programme that exemplifies some of the best that Star Wars has to offer.
Although the release date for season 2 is unknown, it will likely air on Disney Plus in 2023 or 2024.
