Amber Heard's spokesperson denied the actress had been recast in a statement.

It has been both a great and crazy time to be a DC film fan.

You shouldn't believe everything you hear about Aquaman star Amber Heard's future in the DCEU. There have been many rumors and conflicting reports.

Her role as Mera will not be recast in the sequel to Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom, despite earlier reports.

A spokesperson for the actress told both Variety and The Independent that, "The rumor mill continues as it has from day one — inaccurate, insensitive and slightly insane.”

This developing story comes just two weeks after a final verdict was reached in the lawsuit between Heard and her ex-husband Johnny Depp.

Heard was found guilty and liable for $15 million in damages.

Walter Hamada, the head of DC Films, stated that WB considered recasting the actress in the past, and that Heard herself wasn't sure if she was going to make the final cut.

Currently in post-production, Aquaman 2 will be released on March 17, 2023.
