Amber Heard claims she and her ex-husband Johnny Depp have resolved their dispute over defamation.
The Pirates of the Caribbean actor filed a $50 million slander lawsuit against Heard in May. Heard’s 2018 op-ed article for The Washington Post caused the highly publicized trial.
Heard writes of being a victim of sexual harassment and assault in Hollywood in her article, calling herself a “public figure symbolizing domestic abuse.”

Heard now claims she has resolved her defamation lawsuit against Depp in a statement uploaded to Instagram, despite the fact that both parties appealed the judgment.

The most recent report from Heard appears to signal the conclusion of a protracted legal dispute between the two.
Depp filed a lawsuit against the British tabloid The Sun in 2020 because they dubbed him a “wife abuser” in an article. A similar trial occurred in the U.K. in 2020.
Even though Depp’s libel case was unsuccessful, Heard also testified. Heard requested a mistrial in the 2022 trial, but the court rejected her request after the jury’s decision was revealed.
