Just when you thought the most Hallmark-y movie ever had been made, along comes A Perfect Pairing, a film about a go-getter wine connoisseur who treats herself to a stay-cation at an idyllic Australian ranch (complete with a hunky Australian ranch-hand, of course) in order to persuade the head of a wine empire to be her new company's first client.

Lola (Victoria Justice) is the vivacious self-starter in question, while Max (Adam Demos, whose steaminess previously captured our hearts in Netflix's Sex/Life) is the handsome (oh, and I forgot to say mysterious) Australian.

Stuart McDonald's A Perfect Pairing has all of the markers of a successful Hallmark movie: an unusual little town filled of eccentric individuals, at least one hilariously frustrating almost-kiss moment, and, perhaps most significantly, a predictable plot.

While "predictability" may be a dirty word for most directors, it provides this film with just the right amount of breezy watchability.

A Perfect Pairing's pitch-perfect rom-com ethos is bolstered by its deliciously campy performances.

Justice adds a comical element to her performance, in addition to accentuating Lola's overzealous attitude with fiercely emotional delivery of practically every sentence.

We can lean into the joyful, fun-loving attitude of this rom-com world a little more with each stumble into a mound of manure or unintentional dumping of sheep feed.

It also helps that a shirtless Max is doing heavy-duty ranch labor and Demos is moving around like he's in a Burberry perfume commercial.

Lola is a wonderfully encouraging female heroine whose story implies that being good enough for a man doesn't require you to give up your ambitions or surrender any aspect of yourself.

And, maybe most importantly, it's simply a rockin' good time of a watch that will undoubtedly satisfy your rom-com demands.
