Oscars 2024: Final Expected Winner For 10 Categories

Previously, it appeared as though Oppenheimer and Killers of the Flower Moon would face off in the Best Picture category, along with several other categories.

Best Picture

Surprisingly, Christopher Nolan has only received one nomination for Best Director (for Dunkirk). Martin Scorsese, on the other hand, has only won one award—The Departed—despite having nine nominations overall.

Best Director

Emma Stone appeared to be an early favorite to win the Best Actress Oscar at the 2024 Oscars after Poor Things took home the Golden Lion at the Venice Film Festival. This was true even though Stone is only in her early 30s.

Best Actress

Cillian Murphy could carry on the pattern of Best Actor Oscar winners who are portraying real-life figures, as eight of the previous thirteen winners have done. He is the film's brightest star and the front-runner to take home the most Oscars. His portrayal of J. Robert Oppenheimer is a complex, nuanced performance that begs for recognition.

Best Actor

Robert Downey Jr. lost out on winning Best Supporting Actor at the 2009 Oscars; Heath Ledger, who starred in Christopher Nolan's film The Dark Knight, took home the trophy instead.

Best Supporting Actor

Initially, it appeared that this would be the most straightforward acting category to predict, as early predictions indicated that Lily Gladstone of Killers of the Flower Moon would compete in this race (perhaps because to increased odds of winning).

Best Supporting Actress

With Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse pushing its ground-breaking blend of animation styles and technology even further, this should be its to lose after taking home the PGA prize. Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse won this prize five times at the 2019 Oscars.

Best Animated Feature Film

Buzzworthy Netflix smash Society of the Snow appears to be a serious candidate following that unexpected rejection, which backfired by preventing France's The Taste of Things from even receiving a nomination. But the film that is widely regarded as the front-runner is The Zone of Interest.

Best International Feature Film

Disney is the major loser in this case; their Once Upon a Studio was unexpectedly underappreciated. That implies that there will be another open race, although Letter to a Pig has a great record coming into the Oscars having already won numerous international awards ceremonies.

Best Animated Short Film

Although Holly Waddington, who was not nominated at first, may win, Jacqueline Durran (2 wins from 8 nominations) and Jacqueline West (4 nominations) both have a wealth of Oscar experience.
