Story
The new installment of the beloved slapstick humor and outrageous antics of “Police Squad!” by Jim Abrahams, David Zucker, and Jerry Zucker, is based on the widely popular comedy franchise “The Naked Gun” and the television series “Police Squad!” for a modern audience. This time, the spotlight is on Frank Drebin Jr., the bumbling son of the renowned detective Frank Drebin, who uses his father’s incompetence and good fortune to navigate the chaotic world of crime-fighting. Frank Jr. must work with an eccentric group of people to foil a sinister scheme that threatens to devastate their beloved city as crime rates soar.
Plot Summary
Liam Neeson’s character, Frank Drebin Jr., has always been under the shadow of his illustrious father, the renowned detective Frank Drebin. Seizing the opportunity to demonstrate his abilities, he enlists in the Police Squad; however, his awkward demeanor and tendency towards mishaps render him the ridicule of the team. Frank Jr. finds himself unexpectedly in the spotlight when a sinister criminal mastermind (Danny Huston) threatens to unleash chaos on the city with a new high-tech weapon.
Together with Paul Walter Hauser, his devoted but equally foolish partner, and Pamele Anderson, the alluring but dangerous femme fatale, Frank Jr. must negotiate a number of ridiculous circumstances and bizarre interactions. Along the way, they cross paths with a variety of eccentric characters, including a street-smart informant (Liza Koshy), a mysterious coach (Lyon Beckwith), and a charismatic prisoner (Malik Jubal).
With the city’s fate hanging in the balance, Frank Jr. must channel his father’s spirit and embrace his own unique brand of heroism.
