Story
In The Gentleman, themes of justice, personal redemption, and retribution are interwoven with a backdrop of mystery and crime. Theo discovers the true cost of vengeance as well as the cruelty and corruption of his society on his tour through the seedy underbelly of his city.
Plot Summary
Theo, an elderly former soldier, lives alone and meets once a week with Olga, a prostitute, with whom he has a shared history. Until tragedy befalls them both, their regular meetings provide comfort. After Olga is brutally killed, Theo embarks on a revenge mission. His ferocious and unwavering pursuit of justice draws the attention of two opposing characters: Herodes, a formidable hitman with a cold, methodical approach, and Iborra, an alcoholic police officer battling his own demons. The lines between justice and vengeance blur as Theo’s quest for vengeance intensifies into a violent confrontation, setting up an explosive conclusion.
