Story
Leading the way is the ambitious director Max (Lin Shaye), who takes a group of filmmakers into an abandoned children’s orphanage with a chequered history. They plan to do a seance in order to obtain authentic material for their upcoming horror movie. When the group unintentionally summons vengeful spirits that have been forgotten and are desperate to make their presence known, what starts out as a creative experiment quickly becomes a nightmare. The line between the supernatural and the real world is getting fuzzier by the minute, so the filmmakers must survive the night to avoid becoming the next tragic tale linked to the orphanage’s haunted past.
Plot Summary
In the horror movie Scared to Death, a group of filmmakers decide to visit an abandoned children’s orphanage in order to gather information for their next project. They go to a seance in search of inspiration and genuineness, hoping to make contact with the ghosts that are said to haunt the place. But what begins as a harmless investigation into the paranormal soon turns into a horrifying nightmare. The filmmakers discover they have awoken something evil as the spirits start to manifest, and their search for authenticity turns into a struggle for survival. The once-deserted orphanage turns into a haven for evil forces, entangling the filmmakers in a world where it is difficult to distinguish between the living and the dead and leaving them with no choice but to film the very atrocities they set out to depict.
