Story
The US is subjected to a string of horrific nuclear strikes in the 1980s. Despite the fact that they are all suffering from radiation poisoning, survivors of the fallout continue to act as though nothing is wrong. Using a number of ham radios, young Mayday Malone (Kylee Levien) tries to contact her father, who is on a space shuttle. Rather than reaching out to him, she deflects an interstellar distress signal. She follows this signal to Spacerock, the abandoned location that was once home to Area 51. After being subjected to intense radiation, Mayday’s health quickly declines and her organs start to fail. Her mother Wendy (Arielle Bodenhausen), who is in dire need of a cure, brings her back to Spacerock in the hopes that the extraterrestrial inhabitants there could save her.
Plot Summary
In Roswell Delirium, a post-apocalyptic 1980s America is explored alongside a world decimated by nuclear war. Radiation poisoning strikes survivors in this environment of deceit and desolation as they pretend to be normal. The narrative centers on Mayday Malone, a young child who contacts her father, an astronaut serving on a space shuttle mission, via ham radios. Mayday intercepts an intergalactic distress signal that directs her to Spacerock, the remains of Area 51, rather than making contact with him. Her health rapidly deteriorates as she is exposed to more radiation. Wendy, her mother, takes her to Spacerock out of desperation, believing that aliens could have a cure.
