Story
Gérard Jugnot, Virginie Hocq, and Claudia Bacos play a group of lifelong friends in the core of Paris who are experiencing midlife crises. Their lives, which were once vibrant, have become dull routines of housework and mindless labor. To try and bring back their childhood enthusiasm, they decide to take a big trip in Greece to fulfill a long-held dream.
However, destiny has other ideas. A string of humorous mishaps and misunderstandings gets out of hand as the group gets ready for their Greek vacation. Their dream vacation quickly becomes a chaotic journey as they book the wrong flights and become entangled in a string of absurd bureaucratic errors.
In the midst of their travel troubles, they cross paths with Orféo Campanella, a bumbling yet endearing GIGN member on a secret mission to retrieve a misplaced government document. As the friends inadvertently become involved in his mission, their Greek adventure takes an unexpected turn.
Their misfortunes take them from opulent resorts to untamed landscapes, and from peaceful beaches to energetic marketplaces. Their bond is strengthened by every mishap, which also serves as a reminder of the happiness that comes from friendship and spontaneity.
The group discovers that sometimes the most memorable travel experiences are the ones that do not go as planned as they make their way through a number of exciting adventures. The real meaning of their journey becomes less about where they are going and more about the priceless moments they have spent together. At the conclusion, the friends return to Paris with a renewed understanding of the erratic nature of life, their spirits raised and their bonds reinforced.
A group of friends go on a dream vacation to Greece in the endearing comedy “On aurait dû aller en Grèce,” only to get caught up in a string of hilarious situations. They learn the true meaning of adventure and friendship via their journey through travel mishaps and their unexpected involvement in a covert mission, which strengthens their bond.
