Storyline

A bounty hunter pig named Hitpig operates in a cyberpunk future, his job being to track down escaped animals and return them to their human employers. His latest assignment is to capture Pickles, a naive yet spirited elephant who has broken free from the clutches of a nefarious Las Vegas showman. Hitpig’s original plan was to return Pickles for a big payout, but as they set out on a global journey, they unexpectedly become close. They encounter many obstacles and pick up insightful lessons along the road, realizing that sometimes our true desires do not align with what we think we need.

Plot Summary

Pickles, an ebullient elephant that escaped from a cunning Vegas showman, is the new mission assigned to Hitpig, a resourceful pig hired to recapture escaped animals. Hitpig travels through a variety of exotic locales in his pursuit, from calm countryside to busy metropolises. Hitpig and Pickles meet oddball people along the way, and they come across exciting challenges that put their friendship and cunning to the test. Their journey makes them both reassess their objectives and aspirations, which finally results in a touching ending. Inspired by his children’s book Pete & Pickles, Berkeley Breathed’s fantastic story blends humor, action, and a hint of the future.
