Story

Tilman Singer is the director and writer of the spine-tingling new psychological thriller Cuckoo, in which 17-year-old Gretchen discovers that her family has moved to an ostensibly perfect resort in the German Alps, turning her life upside down. Hunter Schafer’s riveting performance as the lead character promises an unsettling fusion of psychological drama, mystery, and terror.

Plot Summary

Gretchen, 17, and her family relocate to a secluded resort in the German Alps, uprooting Gretchen from her life in America. Their new residence promises a new beginning, and her father recently started a new job at the resort. But the bucolic scene soon exposes its sinister side. Gretchen experiences unsettling visions and strange noises while she tries to adjust. She learns a terrifying secret about her silent half-sister, Alma, and the mysterious resort manager, Mr. König, which heightens the eerie atmosphere. Gretchen discovers as she digs deeper that she is entangled in a web of deceit that puts both her own sanity and the safety of her family at risk.
