Story

The movie immerses viewers in the papal conclave, one of the most secretive and mysterious gatherings in the world. Stuck inside the Vatican, Cardinal Lawrence has to make his way through a maze of mystery and secrecy. Lawrence unearths a startling conspiracy that has the potential to change the history of the Church while the cardinals are deep in negotiations and forging covert alliances. “Conclave,” starring Ralph Fiennes, Stanley Tucci, and John Lithgow, is an engrossing examination of power, faith, and treachery.

Plot Summary

One of the oldest and most secretive rites in the world takes place in the heart of the Vatican, during the conclave to choose a new Pope. With the unexpected passing of the cherished Pope, Cardinal Lawrence (Ralph Fiennes) is given the enormous responsibility of supervising this clandestine procedure. Cardinal Lawrence discovers a plot that threatens to topple the Catholic Church’s fundamental structure while its most powerful figures are imprisoned inside its hallowed walls.
