Paolo Liuzzo, the previous partner of Princess Beatrice, had a lethal new drug mixture in his system that resulted in his death during an overdose in a hotel room in Miami, as reported by the media.
The autopsy on Liuzzo detected the presence of substances including ketamine, cocaine, fentanyl, and a recently identified depressant known as bromazolam, as per the information provided by the Daily Mail.
The fatal blend, often referred to as “benzo-dope,” consists of fentanyl mixed with bromazolam and is increasingly identified as the culprit in numerous overdoses across the US.
Evidence suggests that this drug combination can significantly affect the body’s respiratory system, based on a 2023 study by the National Library of Medicine.
Liuzzo, originally from Woodbury, New York, fell victim to what the autopsy described as “acute combined drug toxicity.” He was 41 years old at the time of his death.
A comment request to Buckingham Palace by The Post remains unanswered.
The Miami authorities were called to Liuzzo’s room at the exclusive citizenM Miami Worldcenter Hotel at 3:22 p.m. on February 7, and by 3:34 p.m., he was officially declared deceased.
Following his passing, Liuzzo’s remains were moved from Miami to Long Island, where a funeral service was held on February 16.
Back when their romance first started, Princess Beatrice’s parents, Prince Andrew and Sarah Ferguson, had displayed their acceptance of Liuzzo by including him in a family ski trip to Verbier, Switzerland, despite Beatrice being underage and Liuzzo being older by seven years.
Liuzzo faced manslaughter charges for the death of Jonathan R. Duchatellier after a drunken altercation during their college years; this was later downgraded to assault and battery, requiring him to complete community service. Once his relationship with Beatrice became public, Liuzzo was forced to return to the States for breaking his probation terms, leading to an extension of his probation period by six months.
Up until his death, Liuzzo was involved in the art industry as a consultant. His wealth was believed to have come from his father.
Liuzzo’s past legal troubles also included an incident in 2009, where he faced charges of fraud and cocaine possession in Australia after leaving a casino without paying and then getting into an accident with his rented car.
Princess Beatrice later married Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi in 2020, and together they have a daughter, Sienna Elizabeth Mapelli Mozzi, who is two years old. Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi also has a son, Christopher “Wolfie” Woolf, aged six, with his previous partner Dara Huang.
